Build your resolve by using positive affirmations

Conscious auto-suggestion or self-suggestion, commonly called self-talk, is a technique used to influence your mind for success. It harnesses the power of the subconscious mind to break bad habits and to mold the self-image in order to be the person you want to be. An affirmation is something that is repeated again and again.

Control your thoughts

Comparing the subconscious mind to a fertile garden, Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich says “weeds will grow in abundance if the seeds of more desirable crops are not sown.” In other words, if you don’t consciously think positive thoughts, negative thoughts will most likely intrude. How can you control your thoughts? With affirmations!

Emotional power

Affirmations must resonate with you and be infused with feeling and emotion or else they are just meaningless words without power. Affirmations must embody belief, faith, and imagination and take concentration, focus and persistence to be effective.

Put it in writing

Visualize your successful completion of a task that helps you towards achieving a goal. Written affirmations can be helpful in focusing your thoughts. Write out a declaration based on your intent, the tasks you need to accomplish in order to attain your goals and state your ultimate success. Say them out loud, to yourself, every morning and evening at bedtime.

For example: I am thankful for the time I have today. I will use it wisely to achieve my goal.

Your positive spoken words to your brain are the most powerful message you can send yourself.
