Commit to the Mindset of Excellence

As we look into the New Year, what is your goal for achievement? What is most important to you? When will you get started? What is your mindset?

Mindset

One of our most powerful tools is our mindset. It is a motivator and a factor that enhances achievement. It produces ownership and a reason for all you do.

Begin by defining your goals

Be clear on your goals and write them down. Envision yourself completing your new goals. Begin by listing an annual total of ten and quarterly total of three. This eliminates overwhelm, allows you to stay on track, and realize the reality of what you set for yourself.

Outline your course of action

  1. Set the actionable intention
  2. Outline your business plan
  3. Set the timeline for completion
  4. View your goals daily
  5. Track your achievement status
  6. Evaluate any necessary changes to insure success

The key is inspired, intentional action!

Focus on the effort and commitment required to see it through

Confront fear, uncertainty, and doubt so that you are free to focus. Eliminate distractions. Keep written goals visible in your work space. Commit to doing what you say you will do to the best of your ability.

Truly commit to the mindset of excellence.

Reflection

Reflection is an integral part of the growing process. It allows us to increase our self-awareness and to learn more about ourselves. It also has a tremendous effect on our continuous learning and future progress.

“The more reflective you are, the more effective you are.” – Hall and Simeral

Take a moment to reflect on these factors:

  1. What have you accomplished in the past year?
  2. What changes did you make?
  3. Did you learn from your experience?

After reviewing the role of these factors, remind yourself of the results. What propelled you to move forward? How did the changes affect you? How will you use what you learned to put into action for the New Year?

Discover your ‘why’ with reflection

Reflection promotes continuous learning. It encourages us to think, to discover the why, to focus, and to communicate more clearly. By developing the skill of critical thinking, you also increase your problem solving capacity.

  1. Utilize the value of reflection to produce a clear vision for your goals for the future.
  2. Initiate actions to produce a positive outcome for the New Year.
  3. Decide your desired end result. Define what produces the best outcome.
  4. Analyze and use critical judgment with the steps you will take in your plan.
  5. Give up old, non-productive habits. Realize what’s not working.
  6. Empower yourself to reach into new areas of success.
